あるフォーク・ロックバンドの会場の中で、大人たちに混じって一人の少女の姿があった。少女は時代や世代を意識しない自由なダンスをして楽しんでいた。そんな姿にこのフォーク・ロックバンドはインスピレーションを受けて、あの名曲を完成させました。
今回の翻訳曲は、The Lovin' Spoonful (ラヴィン・スプーンフル) の「Do You Believe In Magic」(魔法を信じるかい？) を翻訳いたしました！
ラヴィン・スプーンフルはフォーク・ロックを代表するバンドです。
特に1960年代が全盛期。2000年にはロックの殿堂入りを果たしました！
1965年リリースの「Do You Believe In Magic」はこのバンドのデビューアルバムで、ファースト・シングルとして「Do You Believe In Magic」(魔法を信じるかい？) が収録されました。これがヒットし、ビルボードホット100でトップ10に選ばれ、最高9位を獲得しました。曲はヴォーカルのジョン・セバスチャンが作詞作曲し、アレンジはメンバーみんなで手掛けて完成させたそうです♪
大人になるにつれ、考えることは大事なことですが、時には若さを見習って純粋な心で立ち向かい、楽しみ、そして忘れて。自由でエネルギッシュな「若さの力」を思い出させてくれる名曲です。
