90年代初め、当時の若者たちの苦悩の代弁者であり、グランジ(オルタナティブ・ロックの一種)を代表する最強のロックバンド。
今回はPearl Jam(パール・ジャム)の曲で「Future Days」を翻訳いたしました！
パール・ジャムはグラミー賞受賞はもちろん、「CDセールスの最速記録」がギネス記録として認定され、そしてあのニルヴァーナと並ぶアメリカの超有名なロック・バンドです。
そしてこの曲は、世界的大ヒットゲーム「Last Of Us 2」にも起用されていますね！
本作中でこの曲を歌うシーンは、この曲の歌詞とストーリーの相乗効果で涙腺が崩壊しました。
因みにバンド名である「パール・ジャム」の由来は諸説あるそうですが、ヴォーカルのエディ・ヴェダーの祖母パールが作るジャムが美味しかったから「パール・ジャム」になった、というのが有力説なんだそうですよ♪
「愛している」と歌うラブソングは沢山ありますが、この曲は「信じる」ことを歌っています。男らしい決意の中に弱さを秘めた、男女の枠を超えた名ラブ・ソングです。
